I know that there are modern horror movies that are more violent than this one that are rated R, but I still think the 18+ age recommendation should still stand for the NC-17 movie rating. This is a masterpiece and a pioneer into the violent horror flicks we have today, and who knew that this film’s director Sam Raimi would go on to direct the Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s? One thing I don’t understand, though, is why the age recommendation got switched from 18+ to 16+, especially since it is rated NC-17. Which Side of History?
